We are a family of 6 with 4 children aged 11-15. We booked a dune safari trip with camel tour, sandboard and barbecue dinner. It was perfect! Mr. Nadeem picked us up from the hotel in Doha around 2:30 p.m. to take us on off road drive in a remote location. There we have the opportunity to ride a quad and dune buggy, buy scarves etc while the jeep is prepared for the desert trip (the tires are deflated). Then… here we go! With more than 14 years of off road driving experience Mr. Nadeem knows the dunes like the back of his hand. We were a little afraid of feeling bad but frankly it shakes without making you sick.
We took a break to sandboard. Then we joined the camp. During the stay in the camp in the evening, it was great, the decor is very nice, and the food is excellent, the camel ride is great, the show is very good. In short, we loved this day. We would do it again without hesitation (don’t forget to take warm jackets for the evening because we must admit that it is very cold at nightfall). Everything was fine! The pick-up worked at 3.15 pm. The driver was very friendly and explained everything to us in detail. The ride was awesome; the two stops on the sand dunes were great, the children 11 and 8 were very happy. Arriving at the camp, we first had camel riding and then sand surfing, followed by a tour of the camp with henna painting, snacks, etc. We were also given the table number in advance and we were able to look at the program in peace. The evening buffet and then the dessert buffet were available in sufficient quantities between the breaks. Everything was just great and the children enjoyed it to the fullest. Only to be recommended!

To explore the sand dunes, there are tourist excursions offered in the morning, late afternoon or for two or more days (spending a night in the sand dunes). For our part, we took part in what seems to be the most classic offer: the 4×4 safari at the end of the day, with dinner in a Bedouin camp.
Sabaa : Excellent trip from beginning to the last day…
For this safari adventure tour in the Qatar, we were 2 and therefore shared our 4×4 with other visitors. Our friendly English speaking driver-guide met us at our hotel, and we drove a good thirty minutes on the road before reaching the remote location. Safari excursion in the smooth sand, the driver slightly deflated the tires (to better adhere to the sand) and then had fun making sudden accelerations and skids when crossing the dunes. We must admit that it is rather funny and that it moves well! In any case, it’s an unknown feeling because you’re not used to driving like that in everyday life (unless you have a lot of sand on the road and you’re not afraid of losing your permit…). And if you don’t like it, don’t worry, the driver constantly asked us if we wanted a more or less rough ride to make sure it could suit everyone. There are still a lot of cars following each other and you don’t always feel like you’re in a wild space…
Safari and Sandboarding in Doha:
The atmosphere of the camp is really good! Although there are a few people, we really enjoy the place and we are not bored for a second. We did a (very) short camel ride and a lot of sandboarding. It is actually a similar activity to snowboarding, except that you use your board on sand rather than snow!
At the end of the evening, we drove in the opposite direction and were dropped off at our hotel. What we remember from this safari in Doha is the freedom left to the camp and the diversity of possible activities. We were able to fully enjoy the landscapes of the desert and we have very good memories of this evening under the stars. It is a tourist activity, of course, but we can clearly enjoy it the way we want, nobody forces us to do anything throughout the excursion.
Amol : Dune Buggy Adventure
Excellent value for money, the description corresponds to what was experienced, except that we did not attend the sunset which is surprising in Qatar … The vehicle is very comfortable and the tour guide very talkative was pro. The dinner in the location takes place in a camp where all the tour operators meet and gather their customers, the meal without being exceptional is correct, so for the price: take this tour because it is one of the cheapest!
If you want to explore the Qatari deserts, there are also powerful quads like Yamaha raptors, ATVs or buggy tours, or multi-day safaris. The quad excursions are quite nice and allow you to make beautiful skids on the sand dunes. Driving buggies with the friends is amazing in the sand. We booked 2 Dune Buggies one Can-Am and one Polaris 1000cc; we really enjoyed our adventure in the sand dunes in Doha.
